Life before Baby

We are taking in our last few days/week before our little girl is here!
As anyone who's had a baby knows your not out and about doing much,
but spending time together is nice! I just want Ty home all the time!
Once I am in "labor" then Ty will be off work for a few days. His boss is
going to give him a few days off then said he could work 1/2 days for a week.
He's gotten TONS of over time the last few weeks, so Ty is looking forward to it.
Although it's not going to be a leisure time off... BUT he'll be home! :)

As for this whole labor thing.... As of Friday August 26th, I was 35 weeks exactly.
My Dr. felt she needed to move my dr. appointment up from today (Monday).
Good thing she did, as of Friday was dilated to a 2 and 70% effaced. :S SOOOO
WEIRD! I had to ask 3 times to be sure, and finally she said "Yes sweetie you sure are."
Poor Ty.... we both are learning what happens, and how to handle it! Neither of us
has been through it. I've had a few "freak out" moments. I think I am over the fear
now and ready to just be done. Sick of being uncomfortable. Sick of feeling sick....
Just ready to hold my baby and have her with us!!!

Well I will hopefully get a post up soon after the baby is born or something.... or if she does
hang out for a few weeks...which I dont think I can handle.

Life Lately...

So life has changed a lot lately!
One thing after another it seems, and were enjoying it yet were ready for it to settle down.
First off, beginning of June I got laid off at work, didn't see it coming and kinda threw a wrench in our plans as far as we had planned for this year. But that weekend we found some awesome housing in Provo that was close to campus and good price and all. So after looking at it a few times and praying about it we took it! So we started to pack and all and as of the middle of June were living in Provo! We love Provo and its so nice to have our place and its starting to feel like home the more were there. I just LOVE having it all put together and all.
So we move down to Provo and Ty's job is suppose to be transferring down to the Orem Kohls, but for some reason they have kept him on the schedule for the Riverton store. The little hours they have been giving him. It's like 10 hrs a week. So he's been looking for a new job, but in the mean time we've come to stay at my moms the nights before he works because its the 5;30 am shift. So he's on the job hunt too, and it's been ok. Some hopeful leads, but timing hasn't been right with his summer classes or something. So he keeps looking. Keep him in your prayers please! I hate being on the job hunt, its so not fun. BUT it's necessary!
So along with all the changes, we've had 2 trips to Idaho in the past month. It's been fun to get up there and see family. But now its time to focus on getting everything in order here.
As far as the baby goes....
We have picked a name!! :) She is Zoey Nadine Cobb. Ty picked it all out, thankfully he had ideas! She is SUCH an active little girl. It's fun to see her move and feel her, however its getting painful! Sometimes I wish I could poke her back or something. lol But she's measuring 1 1/2 weeks big. :S :) So she's growing good! I am hoping I am like my mom and sister and go a few weeks early. They have never gone to their due dates! So here is to hoping! I'm keeping my Dr. up in SLC. So I'll hopefully deliver at Jordan Valley Hospital. :) Thats the plan.
I have been having some contractions, the small ones that everyone gets, then the other evening/night I was having LOTS of back pain and pressure down there that made it so I couldn't even breathe when I moved or stood up. It was crazy, so I just took it easy and sat in a chair while Ty finished going through boxes, and then finally took some Tylenol to go to sleep. Woke up and felt better the next morning. It was crazy. I didnt call anyone, or anything. I didnt really know what was going on. So then Saturday I was talking with my sister and she explains things to me better...and sure enough that is the beginning of labor! I had gone to Ty's school that morning and took a picture in for his art class, and had to walk a ways uphill carrying a big ol' framed picture. So I think that started it. But man alive it wasn't fun!
Things havent gotten that bad again so I just take it easy and rest when I feel I need to. But Wed. I have my appointment that I have been dreading! I get my Rogam shot for the blood type issue and then I also get my blood work done for the glucose and that. All in one day!
:S I HATE NEEDLES...so its going to be LOADS of fun. I am more nervous for the Rogam shot. They have to do it in the top of my hip and its a thicker one. :( They might have to hold me to the table! But I love my little girl and so I do it for her...thats what I tell myself!

Well I will stop rambling, next post I will post some pics of Ty's art stuff. I love love love it. It's fun seeing him create these pieces and he's so good and takes so much pride in his work. I just love him!

Fears of Pregnancy

All the horror stories you hear and the ones that don't always have happy endings.
This pregnancy has had its ups and downs for sure, but lately I have gained a love
for this little girl inside me that I didn't think I would yet. In the beginning I was so sick
and nothing worked, day after day the same thing. Then finally got that worked out
and things started looking upward. Felt great! Thanks to a family friend who shared
her knowledge and support. :) I am a believer in Lemon and Enzymes! No heart burn
nor throwing up anymore! So then here I am, I catch strep. Not so bad at first, but
once I am on meds it keeps getting worse! Finally after 6 days of antibiotics I go back in
to see the family Dr. and I am grateful I did! My body hasn't been responding to the
antibiotics like most, so I am not contagious but its not killing the strep yet. Then to add
to it, there is bacteria and infections showing up in my urine, which shouldn't (for most)
happen while your on an antibiotic. Needless to say after running tests and checking my
vitals trying to get an answer the Dr. thinks its smart to check on the baby. So they start
checking her heart rate and movement best to their ability there and it really concerns
him, because her heart rate is lower than normal and dropped a bit. So here I am all
by myself sitting in the room and the Dr. keeps coming in and out and the nurse and I don't
know half of what they are saying, I was so scared when it came to the baby. I honestly
never have felt that way towards her this whole pregnancy, but instantly when he started
mentioning things that he was concerned about with her I was afraid and repeating in my
head "please no, please no". Just kept saying a silent prayer to myself. Meanwhile Ty is
at school in Orem, and no car only the bus to get him home. So I texted him trying not to
let him know I am silently freaking out all by myself and then I texted my Mom who was
at home and heading out soon. My mom called right away, which helped to talk to someone.
We ended up over at Jordan Valley Hosp. to do a ultrasound on the baby to make sure things
were ok with her. Which she passed all 8 categories. Her heart rate had gone back up by 3pm.
So now its just watching her movements and trying to figure out whats going on with me.
But I decided all my fears of pregnancy are legit. Its scary and horrifying to think whatever
is going on with ME effects my baby. Now I am not a pill popper or smoker nor do I drink
caffeine even. But it really made me realize how much I already love my little girl! I can't
wait to get to hold her and see her face to face. I am grateful for the Angels that we both
have protecting us and taking care of her. Ty and I were at the temple last month and we
were sitting and pondering, I started to think about how my little girl wont know the amazing
man her Grandpa is. That he wont get to hold her and burp her and see her cute faces ect...
then it was an overwhelming feeling that I got with the thought that she doesn't need to know
him here on this earth because she is with him now. She knows him, and he knows her. They
have a relationship and will always. It's a miracle that I am pregnant and I know he played a
part in it. He couldn't wait for me to meet her and become her earthly mom. So despite what the tests showed and my body was doing, she got to come. It's my job to help her remember
what she knows up there and the people she's with. I know there is lots more than just my Dad
with her, which is comforting because my Dad has alot of us down here to worry about and
keep tabs on. :) But I am greatful for doctors and technology! I still have alot going on in my body to get better from but its comforting knowing that my little girl is ok and even the slightest
concern they will find out for sure and double check to make sure she is healthy. So even right now not having gone through birthing her yet, I might consider having another down the road.

Now that I have gone all personal and gushy on ya'll... Other News...

We got our travel system and all. Pac n' play too! I even got all home maker and made a car
seat cover! (with my moms assistance on the sewing machine some of the time) I just have to finish the second one! It looks so cute!! LOTS oh LOTS better than the first one I made a year
ago! -Krista I learned alot more now! lol But I am going to make some bows & headbands too!
I got cute ribbon to put on burp cloths and all. I can't wait!! We also started looking at apartments! It's exciting to be moving forward in life! Just 3 1/2 months (hopefully) and our
little girl will be apart of our family on this earth! Yay!

~14 Weeks & Counting~

So I am just over 14 weeks now! Baby is doing great, strong, fast heart beat!
Measuring great, and all. Only other thing is that I need to gain weight. I have lost
11 lbs now so far and she doesn't want me losing any more. For once I don't even
try and I lose, and its not a good thing!!! Sheesh. :) I do have to keep a food journal
of what I am eating to chart what making me throw up still, cause its not morning
sickness, its just randomly after eating. So thus begins the journey!

I need to get some pics up here. I have a belly, not a big one. It's coming along.
I need to embrace it better, I try to hide it all the time... and its just not working!

It's exciting to see Ty getting so anxious! He hopes it's a girl. He talks to my belly and
rubs it nightly. We call our baby "bobble". lol Just kinda happened. I was told today
that some wives tale says that if the heart beat is fast, it is a girl. So we will see how that
turns out!

On other news, it's my Moms birthday today! I hope she knows how grateful we are
for her! She's an amazing Mother and she's been a strength to her family through alot
of hard times! We love her!

Hope that was enough of a personal update. :) Dedicate to Megs!

Easter Egg Fun ~

How to make a perfectly hard boiled egg.

The first step to a great Easter egg is boiling the egg. You don't want your eggs to crack, because then they don't look as nice, and aren't as appealing to eat when the dye seeps into the egg. Follow these instructions for a perfectly hard boiled egg.

Instructions
Put a single layer of eggs in a large pot, and cover with COLD water (about 1 inch above eggs). Turn on the heat under the eggs and as soon as they come to a full boil, remove them from the heat and let them sit in the hot water for about 15-20 minutes.

After the 15-20 minutes either remove eggs with a slotted spoon and place in a colander, or drain hot water from pot then rinse eggs with cool water until eggs feel cool. Place on paper towels to dry.

Basic Egg Dye Recipe

In cups or small glass bowls (needs to be able to withstand boiling water) use 1 cup of boiling water, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, and a few drops food coloring. The more food coloring you use, the brighter the eggs will be.

Rubber Band "Tye Dyed" Eggs

Wrap several rubber bands around a hard-boiled egg (careful to not crack the egg!) Dip it into a bowl containing the mixture of food color, vinegar and water. Let it stay there for a while. Then remove the egg, pat it dry and take off the rubber bands. The areas covered by rubber bands will still have the original egg shell color and have a tye-dye effect.

You can dye the eggs a solid color before applying the rubber bands, or leave the eggs their original color.

Tape Designs

Use tape, crayons, or nail polish to create fun egg designs.

Use simple shape paper punches to punch out shapes from masking tape (or cut out your own design), then stick tape to egg. Dye the eggs with the tape on, let them dry, then remove the tape to reveal great designs!

Other ways to get fun designs is to use white crayon or clear nail polish. Color designs, names or anything else, then dye the egg. Wherever you applied the crayon or polish the dye won't stick.

Marble Dyed Easter Eggs

Use vegetable oil to create fancy looking Easter eggs!

To create a "Marbled" look to your Easter eggs, add 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to your cup of egg dye.

You can start with a white egg, or one that has already been dyed a base color.

Quickly dip your egg in and out of the dye. The oil causes only some areas of the egg to get the dye, creating the marble design. Keep dipping for more intense colors. You can also let the egg dry and re-dip in a second color. Repeat as many times as you wish. When the egg is dry, blot with a paper towel to remove the excess oil.

Different amounts of oil will result in more or less marbling. Experiment to find the mixture that you like best. Remember you can always add more, so start conservatively.

My Ty Guy

So this is Ty's latest project. He drew this for his class last week. Took 2 days (about 6 hrs total) and I LOVE it! It's amazing how his mind and hands work. I have fallen in love even more with Ty as I watch him put so much emotion and love and hard work into his drawings. I'm framing this one forever. I know there will be more to come, and can't wait but this one means ALOT . I honestly think its cheesy but I really fell even more in love with him watching him draw this and seeing the smile on his face as he showed me his final product.
